Scott Snyder's Bardic Lug

Cover for Bardic Lug

Done in close consultation with Scott, this little piece was my ticket to learn Photoshop. The whole thing is done in Photoshop, including Stash the Dragon, who probably took the most time. There are a lot of flaws in this piece, but what the hell, it was fun to do.

You can get an idea of the process involved by the roughs below, and if it makes you laugh at my inefficiency with Photoshop at the time, well, we all learn somehow.

Initial pencil sketches for ideas on layout and mood. Scott's favorite part was the dancing mouse on the beer stein.

Early versions of the cover for CD and vertical tape version. Eventually we went with a horizontal tape cover layout as it allowed more room to fit in all the guest musicians' pictures. These are only a few of many versions on the way to the final cover.
